Privacy Policy for Mavens and www.mavens.no

This privacy policy outlines the types of personal information collected by Mavens AS and how this personal information is processed.
Mavens adhere to the Norwegian Personal Data Act. This privacy policy is created in accordance with the requirements of Sections 18 and 19 of the Norwegian Personal Data Act.

What is personal information?
Personal information refers to information about an individual. This can include the person's name, address, workplace, marital status, phone number, email address, etc. Information about your contact, the reason for contact, and the form of contact with Mavens can also be considered personal information.

Sensitive personal information is neither collected nor used by Mavens. This includes information such as criminal charges, offences, health, and similar details.
For more information about personal information in general, visit https://www.datatilsynet.no/om-personvern/personopplysninger/.

Who is the data controller for your personal information at Mavens?
Mavens’ CEO is responsible for the processing of personal information by the company. In the event of future delegation, only the delegation of tasks will occur, and the responsibility for personal information will always rest with Mavens.

Personal information received by Mavens
Mavens has two sources of personal information, both based on Section 8 of the Norwegian Personal Data Act.
The main source of personal information is the information provided by you. This primarily happens through the contact form on the Mavens website. The contact form serves as the meeting point between potential/existing customers and Mavens. It is entirely voluntary whether you want to fill out such a form or remain a passive visitor to the site. Personal information collected through the contact form includes phone number, company, email, and name.

Additional personal information may be generated through email, phone, and other correspondence between Mavens and you as a potential/existing customer following the contact form.

Another source of personal information is the information collected by Mavens itself through our website's analytics and Google Analytics. It captures how long you stay on the site, your IP address, which links you click, and the number of users on the site at different times, to name a few.

How Mavens uses personal information

The purpose of the contact form and subsequent correspondence is to follow up on inquiries and obligations towards customers.
Mavens relies on such an open platform between itself and its customers to ensure satisfactory communication and end products.
The purpose of information from analytics is to improve the website experience. This may include making layouts more user-friendly, understanding user trends, streamlining and delivering services in a better way, and preventing criminal behaviour such as hacking.

The legal basis for Mavens’ processing of personal information can be found in Section 11 of the Norwegian Personal Data Act.

How to manage your own personal information

The limited amount of personal information collected by Mavens through you and on your own initiative is compared to other providers and online services. Therefore, self-management of personal information, such as user app settings and personalised advertising settings, is not applicable to us.
The collected personal information is not used for such purposes as mentioned.
However, you always have rights related to your personal information, which are further explained below.

Information sharing with third parties

Mavens does not share any personal information from the contact form, its own collections, or information from others with any third party. If such sharing were to occur, you would always receive a request for consent from us.
Secure archiving, deletion, and internal control
In accordance with Section 13 of the Norwegian Personal Data Act, all personal information received by Mavens will be archived on a secure email or server for as long as the working relationship between you and Mavens continues. Upon termination of the relationship, all communications and personal data will be deleted within 2 years.

Mavens has an internal control system in place to ensure that archiving, security, and deletion are conducted according to objectives and in compliance with legal standards.

Rights

Under the Norwegian Personal Data Act, as a user or customer of Mavens, you have the right to be forgotten, the right to data portability, the right to access, and the right to object to profiling.

The right to be forgotten means that all personal data registered with Mavens can be requested for deletion. If not requested, Mavens will still delete most of the personal data 2 years after the end of the contact.

The right to data portability allows you to obtain a digital copy of all the personal data that Mavens has about you. This right also means that you can transfer this personal data to another company if it is technically feasible and reasonable. Personal data covered by data portability includes personal data provided to Mavens, such as through the contact form, or automated personal data generated through the use of Mavens’ services.

The right to access means that you have the right to see the information that Mavens has registered about you.
The right to object to profiling gives you the right to refuse Mavens from mapping your usage and behaviour to tailor our services to you based on this mapping. Typical examples would include personalised advertising, service development, market research, etc. However, this is rarely relevant to Mavens as we have little interest or use for such extensive profiling.

To exercise one or more of these rights, please contact us. You have a legal right to receive a response from us within at least 1 month.

Children's Privacy

Mavens has no desire or need to collect or process personal data about children under 16 years of age. Such personal data must be provided by a parent or guardian.
Any personal information left by children to Mavens will be deleted as soon as Mavens becomes aware of it.

Data Protection Officer

Mavens does not have a data protection officer since the company is not a public entity, does not process sensitive information, does not engage in systematic profiling of individuals, and does not process personal data relating to criminal offences.

Implementation of Changes

Mavens will periodically update its privacy statement to ensure that it meets the legal standards required by Norwegian law. You will be informed of such updates.
